It reads the Meta information from the Movable Type XML file and creates the correct objects and relations in your Wordpress Blog.<\/p>\n\n<p>You can import the following contents from your Movable Type blog:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Posts<\/li>\n<li>Tags<\/li>\n<li>Categories<\/li>\n<li>Users<\/li>\n<li>Files<\/li>\n<li>Images<\/li>\n<li>Comments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Some additional goodies:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Support for Multisite setups<\/li>\n<li>Associations between Posts, Tags, Categories &amp; Media<\/li>\n<li>Updated internal URLs in your posts (Images, Links)<\/li>\n<li>Users added as authors to blog instance<\/li>\n<li>Images will be added to the media library (with thumbnails)<\/li>\n<li>Support chunked backups for importing large sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Known Limitations<\/h3>\n\n<ul>\n<li>It's possible to get an Out-of-Memory Exception while importing, if your XML backup is too large to be processed in memory. Try using chunked backups from Movable Type (e.g. 2MB) instead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3>Roadmap<\/h3>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Try to use information from newly created image library entries, to generate new clean img tags with correct sizing, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Unzip <code>movable-type-backup-importer-$VERSION.zip<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li>Upload the <code>movable-type-backup-importer<\/code> folder to your <code>\/wp-content\/plugins<\/code> folder<\/li>\n<li>Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress<\/li>\n<li>Go to the Tools -&gt; Import screen, Click on 'Movable Type (Backup)'<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>If you have large Backups, try to use a chunked backup from Movable Type, like 2 MB chunks for example.
