Do you use WooCommerce and want to accept PayPal & Stripe payments, including selling subscriptions, completely for free? This plugin can do just that. It’s easy to setup and use. On top of that we’re an official PayPal and Stripe Partner.
Why install four or more plugins when one is all you need? PayPal Standard, PayPal Commerce, Stripe, and subscriptions are all included, so you only have one plugin to set up.
A PayPal account, which is free, is required to use PayPal. A Stripe account, which is also free, is required to use Stripe. You can use the plugin with only PayPal enabled, only Stripe, or both at the same time.
Here’s a short video to show how the plugin works:
Plugin Features
-
Simply put – This plugin likely has everything you need to sell on WooCommerce.
-
Free, in full – There is no Pro version, no add-ons to buy, no upsell after you install it.
-
PayPal Commerce – Connecting to PayPal is easy and takes just a few clicks and logging into PayPal. The plugin includes paying with PayPal, Pay Later, Venmo, and Pay by Credit Card.
-
PayPal Pay Later messaging, which advertises the option before your customer decides. On a $50 product the customer will see something like “4 interest-free payments of $12.50” right on your shop and product pages, so a bigger price tag doesn’t scare them off. You still get paid in full, up front – PayPal collects the installments and absorbs the risk if the customer misses a payment. Pay Later transactions are billed at PayPal’s Pay Later rate, which differs from standard checkout; see PayPal’s Pay Later documentation for current rates and availability in your region.
-
PayPal buttons on the cart page – Shoppers who already know what they want can pay straight from the cart and skip the checkout form entirely.
-
Stripe – Connecting to Stripe is easy and takes just a few clicks and logging into Stripe. The plugin includes paying with Credit Card directly on your website. It also includes Link, so that customers can save their Credit Card info to Stripe, then when they come back to your website another time, they can see their saved card info when they enter their email address and get a text code sent to their phone so they can complete checkout much faster.
-
PayPal Standard – This plugin includes the PayPal Classic gateway, with both IPN and PDT support. It lets you unhide and restore the PayPal Standard module that’s still built into WooCommerce core, and it also includes our own full and complete PayPal Standard module – use whichever one you prefer. WooCommerce may remove PayPal Standard from its core code entirely in a future release. If that day comes, our own built-in module means you can simply add it back and keep taking PayPal Standard payments exactly as you do now.
-
3D Secure & SCA – Card payments on both PayPal and Stripe are verified automatically when the customer’s bank asks for it, so cards that need the extra step get approved instead of declined. Nothing to configure, and the fraud liability shifts away from you.
-
Test / Sandbox mode – All three gateways fully support test mode. You can place practice orders with fake money and test cards to be sure everything works exactly how you want before you take a single real payment.
-
Built-in subscriptions – Sell recurring products through PayPal Commerce and Stripe with no additional plugin required.
-
Flexible Billing – Billing interval, free trial, sign-up fee, and a limit on the number of payments, on both simple products and variations.
-
Renewals that don’t depend on your site being online – PayPal and Stripe initiate every charge themselves.
-
Customer self-service – subscribers view, pause, and cancel from ‘My Account’ section of your website without emailing you. This feature can be turned off if you don’t need it.
-
Subscription emails – The emails are already written for you, covering a new subscription, a cancelled subscription, a failed payment, and an expired subscription.
-
Automatic subscriber roles – Customers are given your subscriber role while their subscription is active and moved off it once it ends, so you can use subscriptions for members-only content without managing accounts by hand.
-
Sell multiple subscriptions – A single checkout can mix multiple subscriptions and one-time products with Stripe.
-
Works with WooCommerce Subscriptions – takes over automatically when that plugin is active. This plugin includes Subscription support so you don’t need to use WooCommerce Subscriptions, but you can if you want to.
-
Refund / Cancel Subscriptions easily – Refund a payment and Cancel the subscription at the same time directly from your WooCommerce ‘Edit Order’ page.
-
Chargebacks & Disputes – The plugin also includes handling of disputes and chargebacks. When a dispute arrives it can change the order status for you automatically, and you choose which status it uses. Once PayPal settles the dispute the order goes back to the status it had before, so you always know where an order stands without logging in to PayPal to check.
-
One-click dashboard links – jump from an order straight to the matching payment or subscription in Stripe or PayPal
-
Full support for WooCommerce block and WooCommerce classic checkout
-
HPOS compatible – built for WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage
Why this plugin exists
The plugin began as a way to restore PayPal Standard after WooCommerce deprecated it. PayPal has confirmed they have no current plans to discontinue PayPal Standard, so it’s still here – now we’ve expanded the plugin by including a full PayPal Commerce integration, a modern Stripe checkout experience, and built-in subscriptions.

அடிக்கடி கேட்கப்படும் கேள்விகள்
-
Does this work with the latest version of WooCommerce?
-
Yes, this plugin is compatible with the latest version of WooCommerce.
-
Do I need the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin to sell subscriptions?
-
No. Subscriptions are built into this plugin. Mark any simple product or variation as a subscription from its edit screen and customers can subscribe through PayPal Commerce or Stripe. The subscription itself is created and billed by PayPal or Stripe, so renewals don’t depend on your website or on any third-party server. PayPal Standard does not support subscriptions.
-
Does this work with the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin?
-
Yes. If you already own the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin and it’s active, it takes over subscription handling and both Stripe and PayPal Commerce integrate with it automatically. The built-in subscriptions stay out of the way while it’s active, and any subscriptions you already created here keep renewing and stay manageable.
-
Do I have to use PayPal and Stripe at the same time?
-
No. You can turn on only PayPal, only Stripe, or both at the same time and let your customers pick at checkout.
-
Do I need a PayPal or Stripe account?
-
Yes, and both are free to create. The plugin’s settings pages walk you through connecting to PayPal and Stripe, and will also help you setup a PayPal Sandbox or Stripe test account so you can test everything first to make sure it’s working correctly before accepting live payments.
-
Can my customers manage their own subscriptions?
-
Yes. Subscribers get a Subscriptions area in My Account where they can view a subscription, pause it, cancel it, or start it up again. You can turn cancelling and pausing off in the settings if you’d rather handle it yourself.
-
What happens to renewals if my site goes down?
-
Your subscription renewals will continue to process as normal. What makes this plugin amazing is that the subscription is controlled by PayPal and Stripe. So if your website does have an issue or if you decided to stop using our plugin, subscriptions will continue to come into your PayPal / Stripe accounts.
-
Can I use this alongside other PayPal or Stripe payment gateways?
-
You can use other gateways on your WooCommerce website, but we don’t recommend using other PayPal and Stripe gateways in combination with ours. The reason is that our plugin and other plugins could interfere and cause issues at checkout.
The technical reason is that SDKs from PayPal / Stripe can cause issues if they are loaded multiple times from different extensions on your website. For the best experience, and to reduce any chance of errors, we recommend not using other PayPal and Stripe WooCommerce extensions with ours at the same time.
-
Where can I get support?
-
We’re here to help! Please create a support post in the support forum and we’ll get back to you right away. There’s also a support form built into the plugin’s own settings pages that you can use to create a support ticket on our website.

Changelog
4.1.0
- New – Subscription coupons: “Fixed subscription discount” and “Percentage subscription discount” coupon types, with an optional “Number of payments to discount” limit (the same as WooCommerce Subscriptions’ “Active for x payments”). Works with Stripe and PayPal, for built-in subscriptions and WooCommerce Subscriptions. With Stripe, the discounted payments and the full price after them are set up on Stripe at checkout, so Stripe switches to the full price on its own
- New – Free trials with shipping now work like WooCommerce Subscriptions: nothing ships or is charged for shipping during the trial, and each renewal charges its own shipping. Renewal shipping is shown at checkout, on the subscription, and in My Account, and renewal orders show the shipping method
- Enhancement – PayPal can now bill a coupon that’s limited to a number of payments together with a free trial, sign-up fee, or one-time products (PayPal was hidden for these carts before)
- Enhancement – Stripe now collects everything due at checkout, such as shipping for one-time products, with the subscription’s first payment
- Enhancement – The Stripe test mode summary shows when a limited coupon ends, e.g. “$4.00 every day for 2 payments, then $5.00 every day”
- Enhancement – Subscriptions limited to a number of payments now say “5 payments in total” at checkout and on the order screen, so it’s clear the first payment is included
- Fix – Security: hardened subscription checkout so each PayPal or Stripe subscription can pay for only one order, and PayPal subscriptions the buyer hasn’t approved are refused
- Fix – Security: an order is now marked paid only when its PayPal or Stripe subscription is exactly the one made for that checkout and bills what the order says, both at checkout and when Stripe’s webhook completes the order
- Fix – Stripe: on stores using WooCommerce’s classic order storage (HPOS off), Stripe webhooks could act on the wrong order or subscription, such as recording a refund or a cancellation on the newest one. They now find the exact order
- Fix – WooCommerce Subscriptions: when “Stop renewing after” ends a subscription, it is now also cancelled on Stripe and PayPal
- Fix – WooCommerce Subscriptions with PayPal: subscriptions billed every 2 or more periods with “Stop renewing after” now get the right number of payments on PayPal (every 2 months for 12 months = 6 payments)
- Fix – WooCommerce Subscriptions with Stripe: a limited coupon’s price plan is now set up on Stripe even when the buyer leaves before the checkout page finishes
- Fix – WooCommerce Subscriptions with PayPal: a repeated PayPal renewal notice no longer creates a second renewal order on stores using HPOS
- Fix – Stripe: pausing a subscription that has a coupon price plan and a limited number of payments no longer removes its end date on Stripe
- Fix – Stripe: cancelling a subscription that has a coupon price plan no longer gives the customer a Stripe credit for the unused time, the same as subscriptions without a coupon
- Fix – Stripe free trials now bill the correct renewal price when a coupon is entered, or the address changes, after the checkout page has loaded
- Fix – Changing a Stripe subscription’s price no longer creates an extra $0 renewal order
- Fix – WooCommerce Subscriptions: a limited coupon is now removed after its last discounted payment, so renewal orders match what Stripe and PayPal charge
- Fix – WooCommerce Subscriptions with Stripe: a limited coupon’s discounted payments now start after the free trial, and the trial no longer ends early
- Fix – PayPal: the first payment after a free trial is now recorded as a renewal order
- Fix – Block checkout now shows the reason when PayPal can’t start a subscription (for example, no shipping for renewals to that address) instead of doing nothing
- Fix – Block checkout: the Stripe and PayPal payment areas now update when the cart changes on the checkout page (for example from the mini-cart), including free-trial carts where the amount due today stays $0, and PayPal now reappears when a cart goes from two subscriptions to one
- Fix – Stripe orders with two or more subscriptions now show “View subscription” and “View payment” links for each subscription in the order’s Gateway dashboard box
- Fix – Stripe: undoing a cancellation on a subscription limited to a number of payments no longer removes its end date
- Fix – Regular coupons on subscription carts discount only the first payment, and are refused with an explanation when nothing is charged at checkout
